Muhlenberg County

“And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County
Down by the Green River where paradise lay?”

Muhlenberg County is home to good music, good food, and great recreation! Nestled in western Kentucky, Muhlenberg County is home to over 30,000 people. Muhlenberg is home to Lake Malone State Park which has over 700 acres of recreation to enjoy. Muhlenberg is also the home of The Greater Muhlenberg Parks and Recreation System which includes over 10 parks across the county. In 2008, The Felix E. Martin Foundation was created and worked with the local community to create a state-of-the-art park system in Muhlenberg Co.  Established through a trust created in 2008 by Felix E. Martin Jr. (1927-2007) for the “civic, cultural, and educational benefit of the citizens of Muhlenberg County,” the Foundation has since distributed nearly $40 million to benefit the community of approximately 31,000 residents. The foundation helps support projects in Muhlenberg County and supports the park system. Greater Muhlenberg Parks and Recreation is home to the Sue and Brown Badgett Center, a 47,000-square-foot multiple purpose facility located in Greenville, KY. The park is also home to the Ray Jones Family Complex, a five-field complex that is used for baseball, softball, and tball. The park is home to countless playgrounds, green space, and other recreation areas to provide leisure to the citizens of Muhlenberg County.

We hope you enjoy your visit to Muhlenberg County and look forward to your return!
